Styled Shoot at Carstens Mill Wedding in Brillion Wisconsin
Brillion, WI is a quaint small town located just 30 miles south of Green Bay and the Wisconsin's beloved Lambeau Field Stadium. The kind of town where people leave their doors unlocked; where there is only one-stop light in the entire town; and where neighbors and friends drop by your home unannounced to talk or drop off a home-cooked meal no questions asked. This is my hometown, where I was born and raised, and I always envisioned high school sweethearts setting those same roots down as their families before had done. Partnering with as many local vendors, our vision was to create an Spring Hometown-Inspired Wedding with antique touches. Carstens Mill is a new and upcoming venue this year, and I wanted to showcase its distinct historical charm. Instead of bold, bright spring colors, we decided to incorporate some of Pantone's 2016 Spring Collection into our soft color palette: Rose Quartz, Iced Coffee and a touch of Peach Echo along with a deep green. We decided to keep the decor minimal with one main floral arrangement, done by Brilliont Blooms (also new florist shop to town), and an eclectic spread of antique and vintage style pieces from both Carsten's Mill and Folk & Fancy Rentals. The gorgeous nude and lace-overlay gown provided by Erika's Bridal Couture fit in perfectly and the stunning emerald ring from Anna & Alyssa Jewelry topped it off. The drinkware, flatware, and other decor items have been accumulated through countless antique shops and flea market visits over the years by the owner of Carsten's Mill. This is a great example of how normal items that people might have in their homes can make a creative, and thoughtful event space. Each one of the elements incorporated into this wedding, bring that hometown feel back into a truly unique and personal event.
